<image:title>About - Laurie Amodeo, LAC, MSW, MBA (she/her) As a Licensed Addiction Counselor and integrative social worker, Laurie Amodeo partners with individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges, empowering them to move toward the lives they envision. Her clinical approach is trauma-informed, eclectic, and grounded in liberation principles, prioritizing the unique needs of people from historically underserved communities. Laurie’s therapeutic work is deeply rooted in an ecological systems perspective, acknowledging the profound connection between personal healing and community health. She draws on a blend of transpersonal and psychodynamic theories, expressive and behavioral interventions, emotional insight, and consciousness inquiry to support a whole-person approach to wellbeing. This foundation is further enriched by her extensive expertise in mind-body practices, including her work as a meditation guide, breathwork facilitator, and yoga teacher specializing in Yoga Nidra. A student and practitioner of yoga and Buddhism since 2005, Laurie integrates embodied practices into her clinical space to nurture groundedness and expanded capacity. Of Haitian lineage, she is a dedicated advocate for community care and has co-founded contemplative spaces centering bodies of color, including the active Hush Harbor Community (active) and the BIPOC Meditation Collective (2017–2025). In addition to her clinical credentials, Laurie brings a unique strategic perspective to her work, holding an MBA and having spent over 13 years in strategy and communications for major brands across New York City and Colorado. Outside of her practice, Laurie is a student of botanical arts and an herbalist, as well as a singer-lyricist, sound shaper, and writer—creative pursuits that continue to inform her holistic view of the human experience.</image:title>
